The following requirements apply to the assignments known as Paper #1 and Paper #2

Basic rules for content

Pick a topic that has been discussed in class. Read the assigned reading on the topic, take part in the class discussion, and read what others have posted on the class bulletin board. Think about the material, then write a three-page paper that shows you understand the complexities of the topic. Take a stand; explain why your position is correct. Don't summarize the articles/discussions! I've read the articles; I was present during the discussions. I'm interested in what you have to add to the discussions.

Basic requirements

1. No title page is required, but a title is.
2. Use 1.5 spacing.
3. Use a standard font (such as New Times Roman 12).
4. Use standard margins on top, bottom, and sides.
5. Get to the point quickly; these are very short papers. Don't spend a paragraph working your way from some general statement ("Technology has had a major impact on today's society") down to your topic statement. By the end of your first sentence(s) (unless you are being creative and/or are in complete control of your writing) I should know what your topic is and what your take on the topic is going to be.
