Final paper--five pages, 1.5 spacing
Think of this paper as your final exam. The good news is that it is open book, open notes, you can talk to me about it, you
can get started on it as early as you'd like, and you can (indeed, you
must) submit a preliminary draft of your paper to me before turning in
your final draft.
Your topic must get my approval. You may want to work on your skills as a
technical writer, in which case you may wish to submit a piece of
technical writing; you may hate technical writing, in which case you
should certainly choose to submit something other than a piece of
technical writing. I am willing to consider any topic however
bizarre...and I encourage you to take some risks as a writer on this paper
(especially if you have demonstrated strong writing ability in your
previous work).
You must create a new piece of writing for this assignment. DO NOT use a
paper (or lab write-up or anything else) from a different course. Doing
so will result in an F for the paper (and also, in all likelihood, an F
for the course).
